SOTD- Casually classy

So today I’m doing a really simple look with natural lips and cheeks and green eyes. I really like doing looks like this because it is just so simple and easy.

My eyeshadow is Covergirl’s Intense Shadowblast in 820, my blush is Laura Mercier’s Orange Blossom, and my lips are Maybelline Babylips in Melon Mania.

My tank top and shorts are both from Target, my flipflops are from Old Navy, and I got my necklace as a present, so I don’t know where it’s from.

Makeup Collection/Organization!

Hi guys, Heather here! So I know that I love to see how other people organize their makeup, so I decided to show you how I organize mine. Before I get into that, I would like to stress that I am not trying to brag at all, I just wanted to show you how I decided to organize mine.

I got this desk from Staples sometime last year. I also have a hot pink computer chair (with wheels!!) that I use. I love the fact that it has two shelves under the main table area, as well as a fairly deep drawer.  All of the little buckets are from Target’s discount area.

All the way to the left of my desk is a blue bucket with all of my brushes and applicators (my kabuki brush is next to it) and my eyeshadow primer.

Next to that is a set of 3 plastic drawers that contains my face, eye, and cheek products. I have no idea where the drawers are from, I’ve had them since I was really young. On top of the drawers, I have two palette type things from the Ulta brand.

I keep all of my face products in the bottom drawer. I have them sorted by foundation, concealer, primer, and powder.

In the middle drawer, I have my eyeshadow and cheek products. On the right side, I have powder blushes, a cream blush, and a cheekbone highlighter. Front and center in the drawer, I have liquid, pencil, and cream eyeshadows. In the  rest of the drawer, I have all my powder eyeshadows, kind of sorted by color.

The top drawer is sort of a catch all drawer. I have eyedrops, a second bottle of moisturize, and heavy duty face sunscreen in there currently. I also keep any samples that I need to try out in the top drawer.

Along the back of my desk, I have 5 different buckets. The first one contains all of my lipglosses, which is quite the daunting task, as shiny lips are a big priority to me.

The next bucket has my lipsticks, as well as a lipstain.

My next bucket has all of my mascaras and eyeliners.

My lipbalms (tinted and clear).

The final bucket just has some pencils and pens. I use these, along with a pad of stickynotes, to write down lists or reminders.

The last thing on my desk is a little bag with all of my night time skincare products (moisturizer, toner, and spot treatment.

And that’s it! Thank you guys so much for reading, and I will talk to you in my next post! Don’t forget to comment and tell me your favorite storage secret. I will always welcome any ideas for posts you would like me to do, so send them my way!

#FOTD- Chilling Poolside

So yesterday and today, my family and I have been chilling at the pool, along with my cousins and their family. I’m going to show you my poolside look. I like to keep it really simple, making sure to use products that are waterproof, contain SPF, or won’t show if they do happen to get wet.
Here is the completed look:
I first used my Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 110 and 115 blended together. I chose this foundation because it is so lightweight. It also has SPF 18, which is always important, especially if you’re going to be outside all day.
For blush, I used a light dusting of Laura Mercier’s Orange Blossom to add a bit of color to my face
My eyes were really simple. I used Ulta’s eyeshadow in Bone all over my lid and on my browbone, For eyeliner, I used Covergirl’s new eyeliner, Ink It! in black on my lashline and tightline to add definition. Finally, I used Covergirl’s Lashblast Volume waterproof mascara

Laura Mercier Haul! (Part 1)

Hey guys, so on Saturday, my Von Maur hosted a Laura Mercier Face to Face event where they brought in makeup artists. As my mom is a big Laura Mercier fan, we went, and both were made over. Because I got quite a bit of stuff, I’m going to split it up into two sections; Face, and Eyes/Lips.

The first face product I got is Laura’s Mineral Face Primer. This almost feels like a moisturizer. I definitely noticed that my tinted moisturizer stayed way better than it ever has before. My face felt moisturized, but yet oil free. I would absolutely recommend this.

The next thing I got is the Secret Concealer in #1. This is a super creamy concealer, which is awesome. It does require quite a few layers, along with the brightener, in order to cover my dark circles. This concealer does a great job covering up redness around my nose, as well.

I got the Secret Brightener in #2. There are many concealers with similar applicators to this available, in both the drugstore, and in Sephora. I haven’t quite decided if I like this or not. It is super shimmery, as you can see from the picture. In my opinion, it makes my fine lines show up. I think this would be an awesome illuminator for cheekbones, but it accomplishes nothing on my dark circles.

The next purchase was the Mineral Powder SPF 15 in Soft Porcelain. I actually haven’t used this yet, as I got it for dance performances, so that the stage lights don’t make my face look really shiny. I really like the packaging of this, I think it will make the loose powder much less messy.

This is Part 1 of my Laura Mercier haul, I will post the blush, lip products, and eye products next post. Remember to comment and follow me, I always follow back!
