Perlier Shea Butter White Lily Hand Cream

When I got the opportunity to review the Perlier Shea Butter White Lily Hand Cream through iFabbo, I was super excited. I just knew that this would be perfect for dry Iowa winters, and it totally is!

First, let’s look at Perlier’s description. Italics come directly from the company

  • Formulated with 100% organic shea butter and extracts of white lily
  • Soothing and emollient properties
  • Grants a smooth appearance to the skin

Perlier has extracted from the fruits of the Tree of Youth an important part of Shea Butter: 100% Organic, with extraordinary regenerating, nourishing, and protective properties. The new moisturizing Hand Cream, made up with 15% of Shea Butter and White Lily Extracts with lenitive and emollient properties, it grants smoothness to the most sensitive skins.

And here’s the ingredient list:

Overall, this is a very soothing hand cream. It rubs in quickly, and leaves your hands moisturized for about an hour, before you feel like you need to reapply. I like using this hand cream right before bed and before I leave for school. It also works really well on my feet after I’ve showered and pumiced. I just rub it in, put fuzzy or cotton socks on, and go to bed. In the morning, my feet are super soft. The only (minor) downside is the scent. Perlier describes the fragrance as such:

  • Top: Lemon, crunchy green apple and lily of the valley
  • Middle: Rose petal, peony, peach flowers and white lily accord
  • Bottom: Cedarwood, white musk and shea butter accord

The scent is nice, but very strong. I have received nothing but compliments on it, but it’s something to be aware of if you typically wear a perfume, as it may conflict and get weird.

I would definitely recommend this product. I have a 6.7 fl. oz. size tube, and I’ve barely made a dent in it over around 3 weeks of consistent use. You can buy the 6.7 oz tube here for $24 plus s/h, or a 3.3 oz tube for $17 here.

Until next time,

Crown Brush HD Cosmetic Brush Kit

This 7 piece brush kit comes with a pair of tweezers, a “Pro Powder” brush, a “Tapered Blush” brush, a “Deluxe Contour” brush, a “Chisel Shadow” brush, a “Crease Blender” brush, and a “Detail Liner”. These all come inside a shiny leather case with a large mirror inside.

I didn’t really use the tweezers, but they seemed like a nice size, and were easy to grip.

The powder brush is very floppy and fluffy. I tried to use this for powder, but found I prefer a stiffer kabuki. However, I did enjoy using this to lightly contour my cheekbones and the outer edge of my face.

The blush brush is on the small side, I prefer using a Laura Mercier brush for blush, but this worked well to highlight the tops of my cheekbones.

The deluxe contour brush is nice and dense, but is too small and dense for actual contouring. It works awesome for blending heavy eyeshadow quickly.

The next two brushes are my favorites, and these are the chiseled shadow and blending brushes. These apply all eyeshadows perfectly, even those that are usually kind of patchy. I am in love!!!!

Finally, the detail liner brush is perfect for those days when I don’t want to deal with eyeliner. I just use a dark eyeshadow, and work it into my lash line.

This set retails for $27 here and I would definitely recommend picking it up if you’re in need of a good set of brushes!

I received this product in exchange for a review, but all opinions are, as always, my own.

Review: Perlier Imperial Honey Body Butter

I received this product through iFabbo:  to those bloggers who don’t already have an account, I definitely recommend applying. I was required to post a review on this product, however, I am as always posting my honest opinion on the product.

perlier body butter

I was originally super excited about receiving this product, especially with winter (dry skin season) approaching.

I really wanted to like this, but I simply couldn’t. The packaging itself is absolutely gorgeous and luxurious. When I opened the shipping box, I was super excited. However, once I opened the container, I reeled back. This body butter smells incredibly strong. It smells artificially sweet. I normally prefer sweet scents, but this was too strong, even for me.

The texture is incredibly thick, to the point of being not-so- good. It looks like sour cream or paste, not something to smear on your body.

Perlier Imperial Honey Body Butter

When I put the body butter on my legs after I showered and shaved, it took a great deal of effort to get it to sink into my skin, as parched as my skin is after a shower.

This retails here on HSN for $40 USD, with $4.96 shipping and handling. It is currently sold out, but I’m sure it will be back soon.  If you can deal with strong scents, and really like super thick lotions, you can use the coupon code iFabbo5 to get $5 off your order. (This coupon code expires on 12/31/13, so it’s perfect for Christmas)

Will you try this? What do you think?
