I received this sample free from an Ulta purchase. This is a nice, lightweight moisturizer that sinks in quickly, and is not sticky at all. The packaging describes it as “enriched with 100% Pure Natural Hemp seed oil and blended with natural extracts to provide dramatic skin hydration and nourishment to help improve the health and condition of skin.”
The only downside was that the smell, which the package describes as “fresh breezy floral, strawberry, and banana” mostly just smelled like excessively sweet banana to me, a scent which I detest. I have a slight cold, too, which usually affects my sense of smell, but it did not with this product.
Bottom line: If you enjoy the scent of bananas, and are looking for a lightweight moisturizer, go ahead and check it out. If you are at all sensitive to the scent of bananas, this is a no-go.
This is available at Ulta here at $23 for 17 oz
It’s the first week of the month, which means… you guessed it, a favorites post! For some reason, all but one of my products are very neutral this month. I don’t know why, that’s just how it worked out.
My one bright product is the Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant nail polish in 300 Vio-Last. This is a blue-purple color. This is actually really opaque with only two coats, which is awesome! I also really love the square packaging, I haven’t seen it anywhere else. I have worn this on my toes all month, along with Nicole by OPI’s Modern Family A Phil’s Paradise, a gorgeous sparkly silver-gold.
My next favorite is a lip combination. I finally figured out that while Covergirl’s Outlast Stay fabulous 3 in 1 foundation doesn’t work well on my face, it does a really good job covering my lips when I want to do a nude lip. I like to then layer Ulta’s lipstick 226 Perfect Nude, Maybelline’s Colorsensational Lipstick in 705 Twinkle, and Too Faced Glamour Gloss in Flirt. This has been how I have done my lips almost all month, along with bold eyes. I think it’s perfect because my lips are still well defined, but not stealing the show.
My next favorite is an eyeliner. This is the Maybelline Unstoppable eyeliner in pewter. I love this eyeliner because it defines really well without making my eye look really small. It’s also an automatic sharpener, which is awesome.
Another favorite is the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. This pencil is great for layering under eyeshadow, and brightening colors. I have been using this a ton with my BHCosmetics palette. I also like using a very small amount of this on my browbone, tear duct, bridge of my nose, and cheekbones as a subtle highlight.
My last two favorites of the month are both face products. The first is my Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 110 Porcelain. This was my first foundation, and I have no idea why I stopped using it in the first place. It is really lightweight, easy to blend, and matches perfectly. The only downside is that it does leave my face really shiny. This isn’t really a big deal, as I have to powder my face anyways. I have recently discovered the Laura Mercier velour puff for powder. This is honestly a life saver. My face looks flawless when I use this puff to apply my NYC Smooth Skin translucent loose powder. All of you need to go buy yourselves a velour powder puff!
These are all of my August Favorites, now I would love to hear what yours are! Please leave a comment below telling me your favorite products of August. Who knows, I might decide to try some of them out! See you guys next time!
So since yesterday was the first Sunday of the month, the Procter & Gamble ad was in my Sunday newspaper, which usually contains a few Covergirl coupons. In addition, Ulta has a 20% off your entire purchase coupon, so I of course had to stop by and pick up some things. First, we went to Target. I am almost out of my Elf eyelid primer, so I got a replacement.
While I was there, I saw that they finally had the Electro Babylips, so I purchased 95 Strike a Rose.
In the dollar section, I found mini Dove Go Fresh deodorants in Revive, which smells REALLY good, by the way.
We then went to Ulta. While we were there, I found a coupon for $1 off any Revlon Colorstay product. I purchased this gorgeous nail polish in 170 Coastal Surf.
Next, I bought a Covergirl LipPerfection lipstick in 410 Delight, which is stunning!
I found a nail color from Covergirl’s Outlast Stay Brilliant collection. This is 135 Constant Candy. It is a beautiful creamy baby pink with no shimmer.
The final thing I bought today is a Paul Mitchell Original Conditioner “The Detangler“. This is the same conditioner I’ve been using for a while, so this is just a replacement, as I’m almost out of my current bottle.
Sorry about the long break I’ve had in posting, School started for me two weeks ago, and I’m finally getting into the swing of things. I will try to post as often as I can, but I’m not going to say for sure what my schedule will be, as it will depend on how much homework I get each night. Thank you for sticking with me. You guys have no idea how happy your comments make me! Whenever WordPress emails me about a new follower or comment, I literally jump up and do a happy dance!! I love you guys so much, and I’ll post again as soon as possible!
